In the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre Balys' Dvarionas' Classroom was opened
On the 16h of March at 2:00 pm the 207th classroom of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre was named after professor Balys Dvarionas (1904-1972). This classroom has a symbolic meaning – for long years this famous Lithuanian artist - pianist, composer, conductor and professor has been working here.
In the opening ceremony students of the composer were sharing their memories. Among them was a teacher for many years at National M.K. Čiurlionis Art School and Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre - Liucija Drąsutienė and a theacher at National M.K. Čiurlionis Art School - Aleksandras Jurgelionis.
Thoughts about the importance of Balys' Dvarionas' input to the Lithuanian culture has shared the rector of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre - Zbignevas Ibelgauptas and the Head of the Piano Department – Prof. Jurgis Karnavičius.
In the opening composers grandson – the pianist Justas Dvarionas performed Sonatine in g sharp minor.
