About competition
V International Jascha Heifetz Competition for Violinists will take place in Vilnius, Lithuania, from 13th to 19th of February in 2017, The competition named after Jascha Heifetz is one of the major music competitions in Vilnius, fostering the timeless musical legacy of the violin virtuoso.
The international Jury will award 6 best violinists: 3 laureates and 3 diplomants. The total prize fund is 20 000 Eur.
Laureates of the Competition will have a chance to perform with Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra in the National Phiharmonic Hall during the Final of the competition.
The Competition is organized by PI Natų Knygynas together with the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre and supportet by Lithuanian Council for Culture. International Jascha Heifetz Competition for Violinists is a member of European Music Competition for Youth (EMCY) organisation.
The next International Jascha Heifetz Competition for Violinists is expected to take place in 2021.
